I really do, every aspect of them, from the excitement of the bridal preparations, the beautiful little details of the table centerpieces, the emotion, the joy & love, the first look when the bride emerges in her her gown....EVERYTHING! On the day, especially if I'm covering bridal preparation too, I become more than "just the photographer"...I'll run errands, fix a rogue bra strap, make brews, be on hand to hold hair pins, entertain small bridesmaids (& big ones too!), be an extra pair of hands to hold bouquets, calm nerves....the brides & grooms I have worked with become friends - it is a very special, unique job and I feel amazingly fortunate to be able to do this! To me, it’s almost as important that you get along with your wedding photographer as the pictures themselves. You need to be able to relax and feel comfortable so I can capture your day as it naturally unfolds. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t expect us to be BFF’s and meet up for a pint once a week afterwards, but it definitely helps if you can be yourself around me.
It fits my style of photography, too. I’m not a fan of the overly posed, obviously faked photographs. I don’t think I’ve been to a single wedding yet where the groom and his groomsmen have decided on a whim to jump down some steps whilst fist pumping the air. I like candid, natural wedding photography. Less ‘smile for the camera’, and more a picture that tells a story.

I’m Samantha (I prefer Sam though) a Lancashire wedding photographer based in Lancaster. I consider Lancaster to be the perfect spot for some awesome wedding venues and backdrops. The Lake District and Manchester are on my door step. I get the best of both worlds, photographing weddings in the city and in the beautiful surroundings of the Lake District. I cover weddings all over the north west, including Lancashire, Cheshire, Cumbria, in fact I will travel all over our beautiful country for a full blown wedding or a romantic elopement. In the last few years I’ve learnt that successfully photographing a wedding requires so much more than good technical knowledge. It’s about knowing how to be. I build trust quickly and effortlessly with every guest – in every situation – so I can portray them as naturally and authentically as possible. I can never quite decide if I’m an energetic person or a calm one. Maybe it’s these contrasts that enable me to photograph your wedding with subtlety, style and sensitivity. I hide in the shadows to capture the gentlest of moments and I’m right up there with the craziest on the dance floor, sucking up the energy and vibrance. I love both parts equally. Over the hundreds of weddings I’ve been a part of, I’ve developed a way of working that allows you (and me!) to fully enjoy your big day whilst ensuring we create timeless images together. My style blends the authenticity of a documentary approach with fine art composition and flair – truthful yet flattering. These are the images that will keep the memories and feelings fresh for generations to come.

I love to create magical images, images where the couple appear as if in a painting, the couple are the leading players in a landscape, a magical composition. The sky and weather usually play a role in my 'Signature' images, I set these up quickly and then bring the Bride and Groom out to play for a few minutes so as not to disturb the flow of the day.

I am a Lancashire based wedding and portrait photographer and I have a great passion for what I do. Since 2013, I have photographed hundreds of weddings all over the world and met some wonderful people along the way, some of which have become good friends. My portrait photography is my main focus with the skills and experience of using off-camera flash I am very versatile in my photography so by no means do I only shoot in one style. As well as the normal photography work, I am a certified drone pilot with the Civil Aviation Authority, holding an A2 CofC certificate which enables me to capture photos and video from the above at your wedding or other events and purposes. I am relaxed, professional and easy to work with, a family man with a loving family and children. My work has been published in magazines online and in print.
